We use an interactive method to teach the language. Students are encouraged to talk as much as possible so that they will overcome the "mental block" which many students suffer from.
This does not mean that lessons have no direction. We believe that grammar is a fundamental part of every lesson, but the difference is that during our lessons the grammar is immediately applied to real-life situations. We demonstrate that what is being taught is not only found in course books bu is used in bars and at work.
Imagine that the past tense of regular -are verbs is being taught. The teacher, having introduced the grammatical form, immediately looks to make the lesson relevent to the students' lives and may ask the following questions:
Con chi hai parlato stamattina?
Che cosa hai mangiato ieri a cena?
Che cosa hai comprato ieri pomeriggio?
Then the teacher encourages the students to interact and ask each other questions:
Teacher: |
- Che cosa ha mangiato Philip ieri sera? |
Hans: |
- Non lo so. |
Teacher: |
- Chiediglielo! |
|
|
Hans: |
- Philip, che cosa hai mangiato ieri sera? |
Philip: |
- Sono andato al ristorante e ho mangiato un ottimo piatto
di pasta alla carbonara! E tu che cosa hai mangiato? |
Hans: |
- Io sono andato in pizzeria e ho mangiato una buonissima
pizza ai funghi. |
